After living and working in a regional for three years and paying taxes to the specified amount you may be eligible for to apply for a permanent visa.
PERMANENT VISAS

189 Skilled independent allow people to live anywhere in Australia permanently.

190 state or territory nominated independent allow people to live in in Australia permanently. A requirement of this visa is for people to remain in the state or territory that nominates them for at least two years.

191 regional skilled permanent visas are available to people who have held a 491 for at least three years and meet all other requirements.
