TEMPORARY VISAS
Sponsors are usually Australian permanent residents, citizens or eligible New Zealand citizen.

300 Prospective marriage visa allows partners of a sponsor to come to Australia temporarily if they are engaged and intend to marry within nine months of the visa grant.

820/309 allows partners of sponsor to remain, live and work in Australia temporarily until their permanent visa is granted.

870 Long stay temporary (Parent) allows eligible parent to be sponsored by their children for long stay visitor visas or 3 or 5 years to a maximum of 10 years.

173 Parent visa allows eligible parents to be sponsored by their adult children for a temporary four year visa. They may be eligible to apply for permanent residence after two years.
Sponsors can be eligible visa holders for the following visas:

445 – this visa allows 820/309 visa holders to sponsor their dependant children to live in Australia temporarily.

461 NZ partner – allows the partners of NZ passport holders to live and work in Australia for up to 5 years. The visa is renewable.
PERMANENT VISAS

103/143/804 Parent Visas allows eligible parents to be sponsored by their adult children for a permanent visa.

802/101 Child visa allows children under 25 years old to be sponsored by their parents to live in Australia.

102 Adoption visa is for children adopted outside of Australia to live with their parents in Australia.

115/ 835 Remaining relative allows the last remaining relative of sponsors to live in Australia.

114/838 Aged dependant relative visa allows a financially dependent relative to be sponsored to live in Australia.

116/836 Carer visa permits sponsors to bring a relative to assist with their day to day care.
